About Ontario holidays

Statutory holidays are set by provincial employment law, so which days are paid holidays depends on whether you work under provincial or federal rules (federally regulated workplaces such as banks and airlines follow the Canada Labour Code). Employers may also give extra days off. For your rights, check Ontario’s employment standards office.
